Originally designed and built in the 1870's, the gardens include a wide range of trees, plants, shrubs and flowers from around the world. This gives the gardens a unique year round appeal, with every corner hiding something new. Following the Bourne stream for 1.5 miles there are plenty of places to spend time contemplating the world away from the noise and disruption of the town center.
Near to the War Memorial there is a display board to give visitors to the area information on the gardens, with history and wildlife accounts.
Inside the Bournemouth central gardens there is a pergola – built to mark the centenary of the borough. From here you can see some of the central gardens most famous floral features. Sometimes described as a veritable paradise, these floral gardens are now commonly referred to as 'Paradise'. This area is full or crocuses, daffodils, snowdrops, cyclamen, azaleas and other spring flowering plants.
Take a walk through the Bournemouth central gardens and you certainly will not be disappointed, most of the hotels featured on this site are not far from the gardens.
