One of the most memorable places within Bournemouth has to be Bournemouth beach. Seven miles of golden beach sands rolling gently down to the clear blue sea waters. The beach at Bournemouth has to be one of Bournemouth's top tourist attraction.
With the beach nicely sheltered in the bay, the beach at Bournemouth offers excellent views of the Isle of Wight and Old Harry’s Rocks in the Purbecks. Right down the seven miles of beach are various different activities,
- Bournemouth beach side Land Train trips
- Many restaurants, seafront and takeaway - most with superb views of Bournemouth beach
- Watersports activities, surfing, sailing, swimming or just paddling!
- Diving schools, kite surfing, and other extreme sports
- Many seasonal activities and attractions
- Or just crash and enjoy Bournemouth beaches soft golden sand
In 2009 Europe's first artificial surf reef will be finalised in Boscombe Bournemouth – this will put Bournemouth central in the UK as the hot spot for water activities. The reef will cause a doubling effect on the incoming waves, which will in turn double the number of good surf days and increase the wave activity along the beach front. Under the surf will be increased marine life for better diving and exploration trips.
Do not forget to hire your beach hut whilst down at the beach, these get snapped up early during peak seasons!
